Personal History

I “retired” in 1995 and went to Ireland on vacation where I went back to live for nearly two years.
In early 1998 I moved from Pasadena, California to Burnet, Texas where I bought a small ranch near Austin.
I have been single-mindedly dedicated to building a successful equestrian and ranching business.
I have learned about ranching, livestock management, irrigation, fences,
tractors, power tools, the weather, and the native range plants of Texas.
I started raising Boer/Spanish goats and personally managed a herd of nearly 150 nannies.
I did the castrating, worming, ear tagging and health care myself.  I started a cow/calf herd in 2004.
There are 28 horses on the property of which 14 are used in the lesson and recreational riding program.

I am a native of central Texas and a graduate of St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin.
As a college undergraduate I played varsity tennis and volleyball, was a member of the College Choir,
wrote for the student newspaper and was elected President of my sorority
After graduation I served on my sorority's Alumnae Council and was President for one year.
I was a member of the Occidental College Class of 1970 20th Reunion Committee which raised
more than twice the amount in gifts for the College than any prior reunion class.
I have served on the major donor committee for the Los Angeles Women's Foundation and
the Grants Review Committee for the Pasadena Art Alliance. I was a Trustee of the Endowment Fund
for the Diggers Garden Club of Pasadena, and
a Charter Founder of the Los Angeles Women's Foundation.
I have provided pro bono counsel to many nonprofit organization personnel and trustees.
I was a member of the National Society of Fundraising Executives during my active professional career.
