TEXAS HORSEBACK RIDING ~  RANCH VACATIONS
 

If you are looking for a place to vacation with your horse,  The Post Oak is the place!
 A small working ranch and training center in the bluebonnet capital of the world, Burnet, Texas, 
we operate on a bed and breakfast format out of the main ranch house and the bunkhouse,
a small cottage out back.  We are very informal and welcome our guests to make themselves
at home.  Our mission is to provide our guests with a great riding experience, whether you want
something very casual or something focused and intensive.
We are here to ride, ride, ride and offer no other organized activities.
We do have a pool, lots of ranch animals and wildlife to see,
and boundless hill country attractions within a short drive from the ranch. 
We are not a dude ranch, but even dudes are welcome to the rustic comfort of our ranch.

Riders without their own horses are welcome too,
for a vacation stay, for one of our clinics, or for lessons and training.

2 Night Minimum Stay is our Policy.


All three guest rooms have private  bathrooms and air conditioning.
There are two rooms in the main house.
The north guestroom has two double beds.
The south guest room has a queen and two twins.
The bunkhouse, a small cottage near the main house,
has a double bed and two camp beds.

The basic rate is $85 Per Night  Double Occupancy +  11% Tax.
$15 - $30 for each additional person per room depending on age.
The rate includes a full country breakfast.

Horseback Riding:
$50 for Ranch Rides ( + 6.25% Sales Tax)
$40 - $60 for Private Lessons
$35 for Group Lessons (3 or more riders)
Short Stay Horse Boarding $10 per night (you provide feed & care)



As a working ranch raising goats and cattle, we are a decidedly casual and informal establishment.
Horseback riding is our only organized activity and guests are pretty much left to
explore the Ranch on their own once they've settled in. While we strive for comfort,
there is nothing fancy about the place and those seeking the luxuries of larger dude ranch could be disappointed. If it's peace and quiet and an authentic ranch atmosphere you seek, this is the place.

Rates are subject to change at any time.
Advance reservations and a $50 nonrefundable deposit are required.
We accept Visa,  MASTERCARD,  personal checks and cash.
"No Shows" will be billed for one night's stay plus hotel tax of 11%.

There is a $10 per night boarding fee for horses and you provide your own feeding, cleaning and care .
Negative Coggins papers must be presented on arrival.

Accommodations
Living Room
There are two guest rooms in the main house,
each with a private bath.
  The north  guest room has two Double beds.
The south guest room has a Queen bed and two singles.
Cots can be set up for children or additional adult guests.

The Bunkhouse is a small cottage with a double and two camp beds.

Post Oak Farm & Guest Ranch is not responsible for total or partial acts, occurrences or elements of nature that can scare or provoke a dog, horse, cow, calf,  goat or any other animal and/or cause it to react or to behave in some unsafe way.  SOME EXAMPLES OF CONDITIONS  OF NATURE ARE: Thunder, lightening, rain, wind, other wild and domestic animals, flying, biting or stinging insects,  reptiles, irregular footing the buildings and out-of-doors,  groomed or wild land which is subject to unpredictable changes in condition according to weather and temperature  as well as natural and man-made changes in the landscape. 

By electing to stay at Post Oak Farm and Guest Ranch, guests accept the premises and facilities, manmade or natural, in their AS-IS state and condition, and agree to take any and all necessary and reasonable precautions for their own safety and well-being during their stay.   Guests sign a waiver stating that they understand the warnings and assumptions of risk and that they release in full Post Oak Farm & Guest Ranch (Post Oak Enterprises, L.L.C.,) from all claims and/or liability for injuries and/or accidents which could result in medical treatment, hospitalization, disability or death. Guests must agree to give permission for staff or other agents of Post Oak Farm & Guest Ranch to provide reasonable First Aid/Emergency Assistance and/or to summon medical assistance in the event of accident or injury to any member of their group.
